This book of poetry is dedicated to those who
inspire me to write. Emersen Lee, who gave me the
sage advice when I asked how to get started writing,
was “just write.” Janey Mack, who was kind enough
to read the worst of my writing and still be encourag-
ing. But most of all, to Yvonne, my Muse Extraordi-
naire, who, against her wishes, inspired me to write.
She continues to inspire me every day, a more deter-
mined and gentle soul I have never known; she is the
ultimate paradox. I am truly blessed to call her my
best friend.
I owe them my tremendous gratitude, though I
lack the words to express to all of them how much I
do appreciate each of them.
