The Quiet
Walking in all is strangely quiet and sad
Slowly he looked at what he once had
Pouring a drink, he was back to hiding
Watching his sad life slowly keep sliding

Drink after drink bring back the memory
Bit by bit the alcohol is taking his energy
He runs his fingers over the cold steel
No one hears none the less death is real

The birds outside still sing their songs
Inside he is finally where he so longs
At peace the torment no longer there
Left with nothing but a hundred-yard stare

                    You’re the One

I know you think I lost my mind
I’m wondering how I ever did find
Your smile shines like the sun
Now I know that you’re the one

Days go by never thought I’d say
Someone makes me want to stay
You’re here and I don’t want to run
Because I know you are the one
