As the author, people have asked me why the
characters for this book are from Kenya, Africa. That

story began with a cocktail party one Friday night in
my apartment in Sacramento, California. One of my
guests for the evening, built Safari lodges in some of
the exclusive regions in Kenya and Tanzania. I found

the information so fascinating that I investigated which
areas in Africa are the most liberal as to the gay lifestyle.
My research revealed Kenya. To validate my research, I

contacted Karin, a travel expert specializing in African
safaris. I explained my quest to her, and she suggested
that I seek out a gay Kenyan man to assist me. My
next challenge was to find a person in Kenya skilled in
English composition and creative writing. Their task

would be to research and write about six gay Kenya
couples with characteristics that I could adapt for my
book.
